Glow in the Dark

I recently 3D printed a small sculpture with glow in the dark filament. It might be a gimmick but it’s a good one. I highly recommend experimenting with glow in the dark filament.

What is happening

Did the world end while I was napping? Did I get transported to a parallel universe. Is something happening to change my world. No. Nothing happened. I started to doze off because I don’t have a good diet and sit around too much and am out of shape and overweight. There’s nothing magical about that. … Continue reading What is happening

Glow in the dark

I had a spool of glow in the dark filament. So of course I had to print something. The filament seems as capable as any other so the added feature doesn’t seem to impair it’s performance. I also have two transparent filament spools, one transparent black and the other clear. Both have become very brittle … Continue reading Glow in the dark

Spiral Pyramid

An odd pyramid shape with a spiral inside. I am also trying to print this, though even a smallish version is going to take more than a day to print at low resolution.

Stormwatch

The hurricane passed by without much fanfare. It was far enough west and made landfall to the north. So all we got was some rain and wind. The next day the pier and areas along the shore were flooded. Water continue to rise with the tide. Not a very exciting scene, though probably stressful for … Continue reading Stormwatch

3D me

I am starting the process again to define a 3D workflow to make and display 3D content. It’s frustrating that the Apple ecosystem is still not amenable to 3D content. The file browser on the mac is limited to generic previews (no materials, textures etc...) and iOS and iPadOS offer nothing useful. There are third … Continue reading 3D me

Transfer complete (maybe)

I think all the posts and associated content are contained within this site. I had to manually edit a bunch of references that did not convert when I exported and then imported the posts from atrocious.info and egoartifex.com. Atrocious.info no longer exists. Egoartifex.com is still viewable. I am going to backup the site and download … Continue reading Transfer complete (maybe)

Plural(ize)

I changed all the menu and category items to their plural. I don’t know if that makes more sense to the viewer but It seems to be more accurate to name a list with the plural of the descriptor. I’m sure it will break something. I met some people last night at a somewhat new … Continue reading Plural(ize)

Site Changes

Today I made a bunch of changes to the site layout. I moved the categories and posts list to bottom of the pages using the footer widgets. I moved some menu items to the footer - contact and about. I finished making sure images and file references are all on the current site. I swapped … Continue reading Site Changes

more moar

I made some more updates. I think all the 3D models are working except for the Untitled (Self Portrait) that doesn’t seem to have the image map applied even though the files are present. OBJ file format is an outdated way to present a 3D model with a surface. I may swap that for the … Continue reading more moar

Updates

After consolidating posts from egoartifex.com, I find myself having to edit all the 3D Model Posts. The threepress and VRM360 plugins have static url and internal ids specific to the egoartifex.com site. I have to regenerate the threepress galleries and the update the path for the VRM360 files. Eventually I will have all the posts … Continue reading Updates

Consolidate

I moved all my blog entries from EgoArtifex.com to this blog (donaldguarnieri.com). I had previously moved all my blog entries from my Covid-19 blog atrocious.info to this blog. So now all my random thoughts, 3D models, and stable diffusion experiments are contained here at my personal blog. I let the atrocious.info blog expire and have … Continue reading Consolidate

Alligator Bear Bust

These are experiments using Diffusion Bee a MacOS application that uses the Stable Diffusion text to image generator. The images use a prompt that asks for a bust of an alligator / bear cross breed creature.

Always

There is a time when always might make sense. Always and All are words we use frequently when we mean something else but want to convey a completeness to our thoughts. We are at the beginning of a truly transformative movement in the world. Is there a relationship between the world population reaching 8 billion … Continue reading Always

Another one

It’s halfway through November. I am not sure what I am doing. I am sure it doesn’t matter what I am doing. Changes are coming and I merely need to wait. Or not and this is the start of a slow time. It’s been a slow decline for a while.
