I had a strange dream last night that included an iPad with a bent corner that I was desperately trying to stop from curling up. Strangely the screen wasn’t cracked but the corner was curled like a piece of paper and at one point the entire iPad seemed to distort and become somewhat liquid. I kept trying to flatten and reshape like it was an out of shape t-shirt that had been washed too many times.
I also had the Instacart app on my iPhone except instead of delivering groceries the application map was indicating where the groceries were. I went to the place indicated but couldn’t find my order. I looked around for a long time as many people came in and out. I kept looking at my iPhone to see exactly where my order was but the map kept resetting the location point.
Everyone seemed to be wearing masks and lots of layers of clothing, including blankets wrapped around them. There were several older black women talking about household needs and gathering their orders. There was a big bin of toilet paper and paper towels. It wasn’t hot or cold but everyone in the room except one person had the blankets wrapped around them. Orders were being picked up by other people and I got nervous that someone took my order.
There was a person behind a counter/reception area. I asked him and he said there were 57 orders still to be brought out. He got up to check but he had crutches and was wearing shorts. His legs were all twisted and he had trouble standing. He also seemed very old but also not old. I stared at his twisted calf for a while and then he hobbled away.
I am not sure what happened next as I woke up feeling out of sorts and expecting my iPad was destroyed. I was certain it would be bent. I never did get my grocery order.
